Qualification: Senior Secondary (10+2) with Biology, plus a diploma in Ophthalmic Assistant from a recognized university or institution.

Age Limit
- SC / BC: 5 years relaxation
- Physically Handicapped: 10 years relaxation
- Ex-Servicemen: military service period deducted from actual age
- Punjab Govt. / Board / Corporation / Central Govt. employees: relaxable up to 45 years
- Widows, divorcees & certain categories of women: relaxable up to 42 years
Selection Criteria
Written examination of 100 marks, conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. A minimum of 33% marks is required to be declared eligible.
Final selection is based on inter-se merit of the written test and experience marks, subject to prescribed reservation.
Application Fee
Fee is non-refundable and inclusive of 18% GST.
Points to Remember
- Knowledge of Punjabi (Matriculation standard) is required for direct appointment.
- Candidates applying for more than one post must apply separately, with fee, for each.
- The category selected at the time of application cannot be changed under any circumstances.
- Qualifications must be completed before the last date for filling applications.
- No TA/DA is payable for the written test or counselling.
- Qualifying the written test alone does not guarantee appointment — Police Verification and clearance of any pending criminal charges are also required.
- Certificates found fictitious or bogus at any stage will lead to cancellation of candidature and legal action.
Nationality
Candidates must be a citizen of India or Nepal, a subject of Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee settled in India before 1 January 1962, or a person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or specified East African countries with an eligibility certificate from the Punjab Government.
