Eligibility
- Education: Senior Secondary (Part-II) in Science with Biology and Diploma in Ophthalmic Assistant from a recognized institution.
- Language: Punjabi at Matric level; specific exemptions/conditions apply for War Heroes and wards of defence personnel (with timelines to qualify language test).
- Nationality: As per rules (Indian citizen and other eligible categories with certificate of eligibility where applicable).
Age Limit (as on 01 Jan 2025)
- General: 18–37 years.
- Relaxations: SC/BC: +5 yrs; PwD: +10 yrs; Ex-Servicemen: deduct service period + up to 3 yrs beyond max; Govt/Boards/Corporations: up to 45 yrs; Widows/Divorcees and certain other women: up to 42 yrs; other relaxations per department letters.
Selection Process
- Written Test: 90 marks (conducted by BFUHS).
- Experience: 10 marks (as per Punjab Health Dept. circulars).
- Qualifying: Minimum 33% required in written test.
- Tie-break: Elder in age gets preference.
- No extra weightage for higher qualifications beyond prescribed.
